Brighton has grown fast. Neighborhoods like Prairie Star, Bromley Park, and the developments off Bridge Street have added thousands of homes in the last 15 years. Newer construction means newer materials, but it does not always mean better. Some of these builds went up during boom periods when speed outpaced quality control. We see basement flooding in homes that are barely a decade old, often traced back to grading issues or improperly sealed foundations. On the older end, downtown Brighton has homes from the early 1900s with plumbing and electrical that can cause real problems when they fail.

Brighton also sits on open plains northeast of Denver, which means storms arrive with less obstruction and more force. Hail, straight-line winds, and heavy downpours hit harder out here than they do in the sheltered parts of the metro.
